How much iron has been mined in human history? | Yahoo Answers

All I can find is about 2 billion tons annually. About 50 countries mine iron ore. Australia and Brazil export 2/3 of world production. A good answer would be all of it ! I do not understand why your prof. would ask this question unless it is to show how essential iron has become from the time people learned to make use of it.
